Putting Together A Wedding Budget

Set a realistic wedding budget when you’re planning your wedding
Wedding budgets often times is the source of disagreement for many soon-to-be-married couple. There may be different ideas about what kinds of weddings they each would like to have and what is realistically affordable. To avoid a quarrel, the couple should discuss financial constraints early and make a firm decision to stick to the budget.

Save for It
Discuss your finances before you start planning and shopping. You and everyone with decision-making power needs to understand exactly how much money there is to spend on the wedding.
Start saving for your wedding early to maximize your wedding budget. If you plan in advance and save, you will then maintain and maybe even exceed your budget. That way, your wedding planning will be easier and more fun.

All Aboard
It’s a good idea to set aside your wedding budget once it has been established and review it again in a few days. Then give everyone a chance to verify that that they understand and agree to the established wedding budget. Although it may seem trivial, this is extremely important. Someone who is not in agreement with the budget may feel the urge to overspend and jeopardize the rest of the budget.

Budget Line Items
The next step is to divide the total into budget categories- venue, food, drink, bride’s dress, groom’s attire, limousine, photograph, favors, entertainment, centerpieces, flowers, gifts, etc. You should also set some money aside for unforeseen expenses.

Who Pays For What
Clarify who is paying for what. This will save you lots of headaches.

The Art of Negotiation
If you have only $300 for entertainment, look for DJs who are in that range. Once you have selected a good DJ, you will need to negotiate their services to fit your budget. Obviously, if you can get their services for less, that’s a huge plus.
With everything you do for your wedding, it is wise to shop around and make comparisons. People like to share their experiences and make recommendations. However, some recommendations may be out of your price range. It is ok to let your recommendation know why you are not going with them. They may surprise you and offer less. You never know.

Do It Yourself
Doing things on your own can keep your budget down. Try making homemade invitations or your own favors. You can also make your own centerpieces. All of these little DIY projects can free up money better used for other areas of your wedding.
Do not think of your budget as restrictive. Try thinking of it as what you can and can’t afford. Focus on how you can make your wedding truly yours, truly unique. This will inspire you to create a memorable wedding regardless of your budget.

Prepare for The Unforeseen
It’s a wedding. Something is bound to go awry. If you go over your wedding budget in one area, you might need to cut in another area. Stay aware of the ramifications of your actions. Roll with the punches and alter where you need to accommodate.

Make It Memorable
Planning a wedding can be an emotional strain. A couple might feel the pressures of managing a wedding budget. It is important to talk about finances and clarify budget concerns for their wedding. If you do this early in the wedding planning, it will help avoid conflicts and disagreements. This is your wedding. Remember to make it fun for everyone involved and especially for yourself. Start your marriage on a positive note. Learn to work together. In the end, that’s what a marriage is all about.

Casual Wedding Dress

These days, you can have a wedding just about anywhere. Backyard, the beach, a beautiful countryside. Churches are still popular, but with so many options, it can be difficult to decide. If you opt for a more relaxed venue, a casual wedding dress is more than appropriate.

Before you purchase a casual wedding dress, think of just how casual you want your dress to be. There are other factors to consider, of course. In particular, where is the wedding taking place? And above all, what is the wedding theme?

Here are some things to consider. Will the wedding be in the summer? If so, an ideal casual wedding dress is a white, flowing sundress. You can do a halter, thin strap or even strapless. Remember that long dresses get dirty on the bottom from sand or soil. This is something to consider especially if you would like to preserve the dress. Instead of a veil, consider a hat to complete the look.

Now, it’s time to think of material. Heavy silks or velvet are too heavy for a casual wedding dress. You also shouldn’t add too many embellishments because it adds weight. Instead, the wedding dress should be of flowing fabrics because it drapes. It is also less prone to wrinkle which is a huge plus if you have to store it for a few days. Good fabric examples: batiste, chiffon, crepe, charmeuse, damask, illusion nets, duchesse satin.

If the wedding is during the fall or autumn, however, you can consider a heavier material. Though, you will probably need a jacket or a nice shawl to keep you warm.

We all know how difficult it is to find that perfect dress. In choosing a casual wedding dress, you can find them in most stores and online. Of course, take your time checking each one out and trying it on. After all, it has to be the perfect dress. It must fit nicely and fit in with the theme of the wedding.

Another component in finding the right wedding dress is dependent on your type of body. For a boxy figure, you should look for a dress that gives the illusions of curves. Think of your problem areas as we all have them. Choose a dress that draws attention away from these areas. There is always the option of having the dress custom made to your specifications.

Probably one of the best features in choosing a casual wedding dress is the value. It will be far less than your traditional wedding gown. The cheapest dress can cost you less than $50.

Next, a casual wedding dress can be used more than just once. Add an embellishment to change it up a bit. Take off the sleeves and wear it to your next party.

The casual wedding dress is also not limited to white or ivory. You can choose a soft pastel, bright blues, even hibiscus prints. It can even be comfortable. Wouldn’t that be nice for a change?

However, depending on the number of guests you plan to have at the wedding, it can get costly. One option is to give each of your guests a single red rose to symbolize love and unity. There’s no wrapping involved. Who doesn’t love that? You can have a catering staff, friend, or family member place a rose on each setting after the tables are ready for the wedding reception. You can also choose a flower from the centerpiece instead of a rose.

Candy. Fill a basket with candy, or put it in a small tin container. Talk about easy! You can even decorate a nice bowl, fill it with candy, and place it in the center of the table. Give each of your gets a small candy bag with a note, encouraging them to enjoy the candy centerpiece. It kills two birds with the same stone- wedding favors and centerpiece. No individual wrapping. No extra expenses on centerpieces.

Picture Frames. Individually wrapping wedding favors to create a presentation for your guests is time consuming and tedious. If you use picture frames as place card holders, you avoid this tiresome task. Talk about a huge timesaver! Who needs the extra stress of wrapping pretty, little boxes.

Digital photo pictures. This must be one of the easiest wedding favors out there. If you hire a professional photographer to take a picture of each couple as they arrive, you don’t have to do any wrapping. Your photographer will bring a high speed printer to the reception, and before your guests leave, the photos are distributed. Your guests will be dressed up and will like the opportunity to have a professional photo taken. Additionally, you can ask the photographer to put together a quick slideshow of the pictures for your wedding website or to be emailed to your guests. They can see other guests’ photos as well.
